We have decided to rename the KL Open after Raja Nazrin Shah who had kindly consented the use of his name on the Challenge Trophy since the event first started, and from now on it will be known as the Raja Nazrin Shah International Open Chess Championship (KL Open) 2011.
Raja Nazrin, for those who may have known him from his undergraduate student days, can tell you that he was also a serious tournament chessplayer!
